ADEN – In the Al-Mansoura district, a small clinic serving hundreds of displaced families faced daily blackouts due to damaged grid infrastructure and fuel shortages. The clinic’s medical refrigerators, ventilators, and lights failed repeatedly, endangering lives.

Dr. Nabil Al-Harazi, the clinic’s director, said: “We had an old inverter but it couldn’t handle the load. We needed a system that could scale up, work with any battery type, and activate lithium batteries without grid power – because the grid is often dead for days.”

Engineers deployed two 11kW solar inverters connected in parallel (total 22kW). Each unit has dual MPPT, allowing different solar panel orientations on the clinic’s roof. The built-in lithium battery activation function – using either PV or utility – revived dormant LiFePO4 batteries that had been sitting unused for months. The inverters’ pure sine wave output ensures sensitive medical equipment operates safely.

“Now we have 24/7 power. The dual AC output separates life-support machines from general lighting. And the system’s overload protection (5 seconds at ≥140% load) gives us confidence during emergency surges,” Dr. Al-Harazi stated.

The parallel capability of up to six units provides a clear path to expand the clinic into a full hospital. With remote monitoring via Wi-Fi, maintenance teams can troubleshoot from safer locations. The system’s wide input voltage range (90-280VAC for home appliances mode) adapts to the unstable local grid when available.
