Laser Welding Principle

The laser emitted by the generator undergoes a series of processing steps and is focused by a lens to concentrate energy within a very small area. When the processed material effectively absorbs the laser energy, the temperature in the irradiated area rises rapidly. Depending on the material properties—such as melting point, boiling point, and chemical change temperatures—the workpiece undergoes various physical or chemical transformations including melting, vaporization, oxide formation, and discoloration.
